The Meeting International d’Athlétisme de la Province de Liège will be welcoming Nafi Thiam for the seventh time on 29 June, but it is the first time that the threefold winner of the Belgian Sports Woman of the Year award will combine two events in Liège.
Thiam performed four times in the high jump, and two times in the 100 metres hurdles. This year, the reigning Olympic Heptathlon Champion will combine hurdles with the high jump. High jump is Thiam’s forte in heptathlon with a personal record of 2m02. Her PR in the 100 metres hurdles is 13.34.
The Meeting International d’Athlétisme de la Province de Liège is Thiam’s preparation for the World Championships, which will be held in Eugene in the USA between 15 and 24 July. Thanks to the brand-new track at the Province Naimette Arena and the warm support from a home crowd, Thiam will be able to perfectly put herself to the test on 29 June.
Tickets are free to download from the website until Tuesday 28 June or will be on sale at 10 Euros apiece from the main entrance of the Province Naimette Arena from 5pm on Wednesday 29 June.
